Hi there, I know I'm in a minority. I'm a 22 year old film student who's making films with a Bolex Reflex 1. I have to admit I'm not a fan of shooting movies on DV but I do understand that yeah it does have to do with cost, so I don't blame anybody for that. Wondering if anybody in this forum is also shooting on film.

    Hi There

Ive got a 16mm bolex and a couple of super8 cameras and I can hire at a reasonable rate a 3chip DV camera.
These vary in cost, ease of use and quality
Whatever it takes to get my film shot.
But given the choice and money Id choose 16mm.

Hey Generic Skinhead, I think I always was in the minority. I was taught to shoot on Super8 and then I took classes for 16mm. I shoot video for home movies and just for fun. I might make a doc with it someday. But I love being in the minority, I like to shoot on film too much to give it up.

Nolan, I just finished my first super-8 film in a long time. I started my own video editing business 10 years ago and my clients projects (which pay the bills) have always come first.

I made one cartridge of Super-8 film last 35 hours! The result I got was fantastic, and I can't wait to make my next film.

Wait a second, how'd you get your cartridge to last 35 hours? Is there also any way I can see your film as well Alex?

In some ways, film is beyond DV's comprehension.

The film cartridge lasted 35 hours because I shot my film in single frame, time-exposure mode. Each frame was exposed between 5-15 seconds, there are 3600 frames per cartridge of Super-8 film.
